Back in Action!

After a long break from all things crafty (due to us moving), I'm finally back! I finished unpacking/organizing my art room yesterday and today I was finally able to do some sculpting again!

Here is what I've been working on today..

Some Halloween sculptures- A cat (who will stand on a pumpkin), and a Frankenstein Spool Doll! 

And I've also started this big batch of "Tinys". These will be some special sets of characters (which I will reveal more about soon)! 

There will be one large set of 7 or 8 and one small set of 4 or 5 (Then there is also another large set that will be a gift for my mom).

 

Lastly, I wanted to show you a little view of something fun I did to spruce up our new kitchen! I painted the knobs & drawer pulls to be a cute yellow with white (glittery) dots! Sorry for the poor picture quality, but hopefully you can get an idea of how they look.

It's a birthday card for my grandma. She loves cats & the color purple, so those two things were the main two elements that I knew I wanted to include in the design.

On a different note, packing for our big move is going.. slowly.. hehe. I guess my procrastination skills are just as sharp as ever. ;) But what can I say, there are a ton of other things to do that are funner than packing.

An Exciting Month

Hi all, Just wanted to give a quick update about what is going on this month! I won't be making many new creations in April because my husband and I are moving! We have been hoping to buy a house for awhile now and finally found a great home and our offer on it has been accepted! 

 So as long as everything goes well with the inspections this week, we should be moving by the end of the month :) It's going to be here super fast, so I am doing all that I can to purge our apartment of any unwanted, unused, and unneeded things before we start packing. 

 Today I purged my closet and wow- I didn't think there would be such a HUGE pile of stuff to give away. It's like seriously, how many sweatshirts does one girl need? hehe. It was hard to get rid of some of it, but now that I am left with only my few favorite outfits I feel much better about things. :)

Next I'm thinking of purging my craft room.. *yikes* that's going to be hard too! I've got about a bazillion things of yarn that I hardly ever use, as well as a huge fabric stash that is just collecting dust. Oh boy..wish me luck!

One last thing, although I won't be making much this month, I do have a little stock pile of items that I've made recently for the shop, so I plan to list 1 or 2 each week until I run out. Here are some pictures of a couple cute ones that will be coming soon!

Hello & happy Good Friday and Easter weekend!

I just wanted to show you my new sculpture that's in the shop today. This is Minty the Rabbit, who is my first ever spool doll ornament!

I recently thought of the idea of getting 2 smaller sizes of spools to create characters with. Now I've got large ones for my tabletop sculptures, medium for ornaments, and tiny ones for necklace charms! Arn't they fun? Here's a preview of all 3 sizes together (plus a dark chocolate kiss) for a size comparison.

Pig & Pumpkin

I finally finished a new Pig & Pumpkin sculpture! I call him Spotty. He's been slowly coming together for a couple of weeks now, and I got to put his finishing touches on this morning.  I knew I wouldn't be able to part with him, so I made two- one for me, and one for my shop. I havn't taken any pictures of the one for me, but they look very much alike.

p.s. I'm trying something new- I usually create my sculptures in batches, and I had been listing them online all at once on the same day, but I decided to try spreading out the listings and only put 1-2 online each day. So that is why I only have 1 sculpture to show you today, but don't worry, there's more where that came from! :)
